About Great Dane
A giant dog breed named as ‘Gentle Giants' or ‘Apollo of Dogs’, in spite of their big size, Great Danes are moderately playful, sweet, affectionate, and they love to play with children.
The Great Danes were developed from Mastiff-type dogs, but they're more refined than other descendants of this ancient breed. A Great Dane is sleek and elegant. They have an athletic, muscular body. Their massive head--and massive is the right word--is long and narrow. They've got a long, graceful neck.

The standard weight for most Great Danes is at least 100 pounds for females and 120 pounds for males. Unlike the smaller breeds that use more energy, Great Danes uses less energy per pound as compared with the other dog. That’s the reason why they eat less than you think of being a giant breed.
Great Dane breeders and veterinarians recommend at least 23-24% of protein and 12-14 % of fat in their diet. Glucosamine & Chondroitin that helps in bone development and joint support. Omega 3 & 6 Fatty acids for shiny and lustrous coat. Lite and lean is the general rule of thumb until about 2 years old.
Recently, many health minded dog owners have chosen a raw dog diet for feeding their dogs. BARF, bones and raw food, or biologically appropriate raw food, has increased in popularity for feeding Great Danes.
Note: Don't try for the biggest Dane in town, you will only run into problems. Your Great Dane will grow naturally and reach its full potential around 3 years of age.
